Laredo, a 7-year-old, 7.3 hand gray and white pinto mare, arrived at CKRH in December of 2006. She began working in the classes soon thereafter. She
continues to provide services to CKRH participants through various types of non-mounted lessons, including Life
Skills and Showmanship. The size and personality makes her an excellent choice for creating lessons for
individuals who might not be ready for a full-sized horse.
Laredo was donated to the program by Stacey Lentz of Columbia, TN. Stacey, who bred and
showed miniature horses for many years, decided that after becoming a cancer survivor, she wanted to utilize her
horses as a way to give something back to the world. She now breeds and donates miniatures specifically for
programs that provide equine-assisted services to individuals with disabilities
